Dreamforce brings hundreds of thousands of people to San Francisco each fall and this year it’s bigger than ever but it’s not just fortune 500 CEOs entrepreneurs and developers a group of monks have descended on Dreamforce – they’re from France and they’re attending Dreamforce to lead on-demand meditation at to mindfulness zones we’ve come over as a community to share the practice of mindfulness with all the participants at Dreamforce that are interested in calming themselves coming back to their breath just being aware of what’s happening in the present moment because we found this is a way of coming back to life the monastic theme is a subject near and dear to Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff last year some 30 of these months stayed at his house in San Francisco and joined Benioff and executive team events around the Bay Area they even served as design consultants for the cloud giant now every floor in the new Salesforce tower in San Francisco is being drawn up to include a mindfulness zone where employees can meditate in secluded curtain’d off areas the monks say they agreed to come to Dreamforce in part to express their gratitude to better off our teacher who’s well known Zen master Thich not hung had a stroke two years ago and so he was in care in Bordeaux near where we live and Mark offered to you let us use his house it was close to the hospital so that our teacher could live there for about eight or nine months last year and get treatment that was in world-class stroke treatment and so coming here is a way of thanking him for his generosity the monks aren’t paid for their work at Dreamforce instead they say what they’re doing at the conference this year is in their words simply what one friend would do for another hey CNBC fans thanks for checking out our YouTube channel here you’re going to find videos packed with all of the information that you need to be smarter about your finances you can subscribe by clicking right here and click on all the videos around me or the I right here to watch the latest from CNBC thanks for watching
